Duje D. Ostojić, MD
A reputable aesthetic surgeon from Zagreb was born on 12th April 1962 in Imotski, Croatia. He graduated from School of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 1988 with the average grade of 4.85. He was awarded with the Dean’s Award for the original scientific paper. In 1993 he passed the specialistic face and neck surgery and otorhinolaryngology exam at the KBC (Clinical Hospital Centre) in Zagreb, University Hospital Šalata, with an excellent grade.
Dr Ostojić continues a comprehensive and constant medical education. He is a proud father of two children. Since February 1995 he has been working as a doctor in private practice in his own polyclinic for the aesthetic surgery and diseases of the ear, nose and throat. In 1998 he operated the nasal septum on the patient who underwent the heart transplantation five years earlier. This was the first operation of this kind in Croatia, which enabled the patient to have a better quality of life.
Since 2000 he has been the first in Croatia to apply Botox A injections, and since 2003 Aquamid injections. He regularly attends the national and international congresses and symposia, reads the professional literature and is the author and co-author of a dozen scientific and professional papers.
Dr Ostojić is a member of the Croatian Medical Association, the Croatian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, the Croatian Society for Maxillofacial Surgery, the Croatian Society for Otorhinolaryngology and Cervicofacial Surgery.
Edukacija
Dr Ostojić, as well as all the associates who work at the “Polyclinic Ostojić”, continuously follows the most recent medical and technological achievements and information. The education programme includes visits to a minimum of two reputable world medical congresses annually.
Dr Ostojić is so far the only doctor in Croatia who owns a valid certificate to use Aquamid in aesthetic surgery, given by the Danish manufacturer “Ferrosan”. Aquamid was registered in Croatia four and a half years ago thanks to the initiative of Dr Ostojić who was the first to apply Aquamid in the aesthetic surgery in Croatia.
In the past four years more than 400 patients were treated with Aquamid at the “Polyclinic Ostojić”, with the excellent cosmetic results and very satisfied patients, and only one case of lip infection. In 2000, Dr Ostojić was the first in Croatia to begin using Botox for the treatment of the wrinkles in the upper third of the face.
Besides the standard surgical procedures, Dr Ostojić in his practice for many years has been using a radiowave knife, which allows the bloodless operations and maximum precision in the surgical work, as well as the removal of numerous skin bumps without any scars. In his practice Dr Ostojić uses only the best and most modern surgical instruments and aids, as well as adequate supplies, so that the aesthetic result for every patient would be optimal.
Cooperation
Some operating procedures shown on this page were performed in that medical institution. Dr Ostojić is a permanent associate of the medical monthly magazine “Doctor in the House” where he continuously responds to a variety of readers’ questions, writes medical articles, and performs certain aesthetic procedures within the magazine prize competitions. In addition, Dr Ostojić has been responding to the Internet users’ questions on the aesthetic surgery on a Web site forum “Health and life” for many years.
